Who I Am

My name is Charles.  I’ve worked as a programmer, designer and database specialist for over a decade in and around St. Louis.  My main skills are my ability to learn quickly and find solutions to problems, be they design related, programming related, or even personnel related.  I’ve been the lowest cog in a development team, I’ve been in charge of my own company, and I’ve been about everywhere in between in companies big and small.

Currently I am a designer and developer at CompuType Computer Solutions in Belleville, IL.  It’s a nice job and I get to do a lot of different things.  I used to work for Mid-America Web until the two companies merged.  Before that I had my own web design studio called Coffee Walk Studios (which is where this site came from originally) and even further back I worked for Monster Commerce.

As far as hobbies, I do stand-up and improv comedy when I have time.  I like to compose music, study languages (Mandarin Chinese is my favorite), play computer games, study politics, and for a while I did some cartooning.  I still have the remnants of the site here at geekykeen.com.

I live just west of St. Louis, MO with my wonderful fiancee and two cats.
